Water main breaks happen constantly in Syracuse. We’ve written about the impact of a break before, when Armory Square was affected and businesses were forced to close for the day. This week, a water main broke on Nottingham High School’s campus, requiring the school to unexpectedly close.
Check out the latest water main break at the end of the post.

Many times, water main breaks are relatively contained to one or two blocks. Even living on an adjacent block, a resident might not know that a break occurred because the water that feeds his or her house will remain on. In this case, more than 1,200 students were left without their normal school routine. We’ll have more about the impacts of this break in future posts, but in the meantime, here are some pictures of the Water Department crew on site.
