Last winter the City of Syracuse announced that it would start accepting credit card payments at its ice skating rinks. Since that announcement, we have been working toward a role out of credit card payments with the Central Permit Office as well.
Before today, you could only pay your permit application fee by check or money order. Now, you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express! This means that you no longer need to bring your checkbook to the Permit Desk! Or, if you forget your checkbook, you no longer need to run to a nearby bank to request a money order (that costs up to $10 to get)!
We still aren’t ready to accept these payments online. However, that will soon change. Stay tuned!
