If the Mayor could fix one challenge in the city this year, what would you want it to be?
Each year, we focus on one mayoral priority and use a design and data-driven approach to create and implement innovative initiatives and programs to address that challenge. As Mayor Walsh starts his first term, we are asking for public input to help select the next priority area.
Let us know what you want us to work on!
After the inauguration this past Saturday, we started asking the public for suggestions about our next priority area. We had a great time speaking with a lot of you, and we’re looking forward to continuing to hear from you.
If you’re interested in submitting your ideas, visit www.innovatesyracuse.com/ideas. You may choose from one of the listed topic areas (including Customer Service, Economic Development, Education, Eviction, Government Efficiencies, Neighborhood Improvement, Public Engagement, Public Safety, Social Inclusion, Workforce Development, Youth Development, and many others); submit a different topic; and provide more details about a specific idea or challenge. You can also tweet your ideas with the hashtag #SYRToDo.
We are accepting input until Jan. 24! Then we will determine the most popular responses and release those to the public for a two-week voting period. The topics that receive the most votes will go to the Mayor for final review. We will have a decision on the next priority by the end of February!
Selecting this priority area is the first step in our yearlong process, which includes investigating the problem, generating ideas, developing solutions, and implementing and adjusting the initiatives. You can continue to follow along with our work and our process right here on our blog! And as always, you can let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
