Voting for our next priority area is officially open! After an initial round of submitting ideas, six issues emerged as the most popular choices, from which we are now asking residents to vote on their top picks using a new online platform to builds community engagement.
Voting is now open at https://innovatesyracuse.com/vote and at the following libraries and community centers:

The six categories that can be voted on are:
Housing Stability
The i-team would develop programs and initiatives to reduce the number of times that families relocate to new homes. This may address challenges related to utilities, finances, eviction, rental history, health, housing quality, and safety.
Neighborhood Beautification
The i-team would develop programs and initiatives to improve the aesthetics of Syracuse neighborhoods. This may address challenges related to trash and debris, blight, vandalism, and underutilized space.
Sidewalks
The i-team would develop programs and initiatives to help maintain City sidewalk infrastructure and ensure that Syracuse is a walkable community throughout the year. This may address challenges related to adding, replacing, maintaining, utilizing, and removing snow from sidewalks.
Alternative Transportation
The i-team would develop programs and initiatives to improve and encourage the use of alternative transportation methods throughout Syracuse. This may address challenges related to walking, biking, public transit, ride sharing, and car pooling.
Neighborhood Business Districts
The i-team would develop programs and initiatives to develop and embed commercial pockets within Syracuse neighborhoods. This may address challenges related to entrepreneurship, the permitting process, real estate, zoning, and financing.
Sustainability and Renewable Energy
The i-team would develop programs and initiatives to reduce the City’s and citizens’ carbon footprints. This may address challenges related to energy usage, transportation, infrastructure, fossil fuels, and the environment.
Voting is open until February 14th. After that, the i-team will tally the votes and present the top categories to the Mayor for his final review and decision. We plan to announce our next priority area at the end of February!
Voting is open to ALL residents, with no restrictions based on age, immigration status, or state voter registration. Everybody can submit ONE vote!
